- An accident in which a lift fell off a bridge under construction for an Interstate 85 connection known as the Montgomery Outer Loop in Montgomery County, Ala., claimed the lives of two men who worked for a state contractor, authorities said Wednesday.
- County Sheriff D.T. Marshall said the lift appeared to have fallen about 90 feet and the workers landed on the ground below the bridge.
- The sheriff said one man was in his 50s and the other in his 60s, but their names were not disclosed.
