• General contractor Howard S. Wright is making the first move in a massive Bellevue, Wash., redevelopment project by demolishing a former warehouse.
• Wright Runstad & Co. bought the land for the Spring District in Bellevue, Wash., in 2007 for $68 million.
• The entire site covers 36 acres that will become 16 blocks with new infrastructure.

Knocking down the warehouse is symbolic because it means losing paying tenants who have been using the space. The whole build-out is expected to take 15 years, but Runstad plans to have the new roads in place by spring of next year. The project also has a light rail station in the plan.
