• The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), AAA, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce sponsor America's Transportation Awards, and 10 finalists have been selected to compete for the two top prizes.
• The 10 are among 49 projects that 34 states submitted. There were three ways to enter: “Ahead of Schedule”, “Under Budget” and “Best Use of Innovation.”
• Judges will select the winner of the Grand Prize. The general public can vote for the People's Choice Award via a website, www.AmericasTransportationAward.org, AASHTO said. Voting opens Sept. 10 and runs through Oct. 19.
