Greenbuild Int’l Conference & Expo
Nov. 14, 2018 – Nov. 16, 2018 • McCormick Place, Chicago, ILRegister
Greenbuild, owned and operated by Informa Exhibitions and sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the nation’s largest conference and expo dedicated to sustainable building design and construction. Each year, Greenbuild attracts 18,000 attendees and over 400 exhibitors from across the green building sector, spanning commercial and residential professionals, architects, interior designers, building owners and operators, students, advocates, and educators.
Unlike other construction and architecture events which treat it as an afterthought, sustainability is the foundation of Greenbuild. Greenbuild is the only event genuinely dedicated to sustainability in the built environment, from the sessions presented, the products found in the expo hall, even the way the event is produced.
The week of Greenbuild will feature 200+ education sessions, GBCI workshops, summits and tours of notable (and sustainably-built) buildings in Chicago. The expo hall boasts on-floor education including education labs, Applied Learning areas - designed to address the problems attendees face in their professional lives and provide solutions, as well as 11 dedicated product pavilions, including the Smart Energy Microgrid Marketplace – a net-zero pavilion powered by alternative energy.
Special events include an Opening and Closing Plenary, featuring renowned speakers from the architectural and sustainability communities (human-rights activist and lawyer Amal Clooney headlines the Opening Plenary), and the ever-popular Greenbuild Celebration – an evening of networking, drinks, light bites, and a live set from seven-time Grammy-winning blues legend Buddy Guy.
