Stolar Global Imaging, a company based in Raton New Mexico has developed a new deep-earth scanning technology to find buried utilities and other objects. It helps builders better manage construction risk.
The Deep-Earth Scans improve Safety and help you Design and Plan work much better. It helps you avoid Project Cost and Schedule impacts that result from hitting utilities when you dig into the earth.
The patented scanning technology is similar to a medical MRI-Scan of the earth, but it utilizes AM-Band radio waves. It is referred to as AMG, or AM-Band Gradiometer, and it’s a significant improvement over Ground Penetrating Radar. The AMG-Scans detects buried objects that GPR cannot.
Operators can scan your project-sites and detect objects in the earth to a depth of up to 100 feet. They can scan right through Reinforced concrete with rebar and GPR can’t.
Detected utilities are mapped with laser precision and GPS coordinates. If you have "Record Drawings" or "As-Builts" they can validate or invalidate their accuracy by mapping where things really are.
AMG is a proven technology with a long history:
It was developed for the military to defeat the roadside bomb threat. AMG systems have been used the middle-east for over a decade and are highly effective.
AMG is also used by government agencies for border-protection and for mining-related emergencies.
And now AMG is now available for use in the construction industry to find underground utilities and other objects under the surface, including voids.
The instruments are state-of-the-art.
Stolar Global Imaging would like to demonstrate how AMG can benefit your projects, possibly visit your work site and show you first-hand the value our scans can be to your project’s success.
Details:
AMG detects a wide variety of buried utilities, including: electrical conductors, metal pipes, fluid-filled or gas-filled pipes, non-metallic conduits such as PVC pipes, fuel lines, brick or concrete sewer lines, and shielded fiber-optic cables.
The system is non-invasive, and completely passive. It has no actual-transmitters associated built into the system, so it can’t interfere with other critical operations like airport radar or communication-systems. Instead, AMG utilizes powerful AM-Band transmissions already local to your work site, usually AM Radio Stations with 10,000 to 50,000 Watt towers.
