- Under an agreement, Miron Construction of Neenah, Wis., will pay $4 million and the federal government will stop trying to prosecute. Miron can now move beyond an investigation for allegations that have dogged it for several years.

The U.S. attorney handling the case said his office settled for the good of Miron workers who had nothing to do with the issues. The company said the agreement was the best way to move on from a dispute in which there were varying opinions about what was done. Miron has until May 31 to pay, and the government will route the money to the schools involved.
