Lately, optimism about real estate abounds. In November, the National Association of Home Builders reported that homebuilders are more confident about the housing market than they have been in nine years. A week earlier, Fannie Mae’s October National Housing Survey showed that “consumers are growing more optimistic about the housing market in the face of broader improvement in economic sentiment.” And the National Association of Realtors reported that although Realtor confidence about the outlook for the next six months of home sales is modest compared to a year ago, it broadly improved between September and October.
